![]() To my surprise, it became my new favorite coffee shop. With the hype around Alfred Coffee coming to the country mart, I knew I needed to get there as soon as I could. Hopefully other Malibu locals and I will stick to Blue Bottle.Īnytime I hear of a new coffee shop in town, I run to try it. Why would someone want to go to Alfred’s for a smaller breakfast burrito when they could get a bigger one at Howdy’s for the same price? The same goes for the coffee - why go to Alfred’s for a mediocre cup of Joe when you could go right across the street and get an even yummier cup at Blue Bottle?Īll in all, I think Alfred Coffee is overhyped and should be left for the influencers to enjoy. In addition to the not-so-great coffee and expensive burritos, I feel like Alfred’s is stepping on the territory of classic Malibu favorites like Blue Bottle and Howdy’s. ![]() Honestly, my latte tasted like milk with a dash of coffee - it was nothing special at all.Īlfred’s has a variety items on their menu - one of which is a breakfast burrito - ranging from $10 to $12, which is expensive considering its small size. Maybe my expectations were too high from all the media hype, but I wasn’t “wowed” like my opponent was by her first sip of Alfred Coffee.Ĭonsidering Alfred’s prides themselves with their vanilla syrup, I was expecting the the vanilla to have the best flavor ever - but I could barely even taste it. That excitement quickly ended when I took my first sip of their “world famous” iced vanilla latte. I recommend to heat it up some if you do happen to try it.I first heard about Alfred Coffee through the many influencers and celebrities who posted photos on Instagram with the famous antler “A” logo all over their coffee cups.Īs a coffee lover, I was excited to hear Alfred’s was coming to Malibu and had to try this highly favored coffee shop. I was turned off by how she acted so instead of me sitting there and having the whole sit in experience, I ordered a croissant, didn't get anything else and left.īut I will say that the spinach and cheese croissant was good. It's large and I should've seen it but when I walked in but I looked directly in front of me not to the left of me. What I didn't like was how the cashier made me feel a bit stupid by giving me a smirk and just pointing up there like I asked a dumb question. I felt a little silly when I missed the big sign to the left but didn't feel as bad when the lady behind me said she didn't see it either. In my past experiences, the majority of places that have menus on their wall are usually placed right in front of you when you walk in so you can see it. She pointed to the wall to the left of me and lo and behold, there was a menu at the very top. I didn't know what else they offered so I asked if they had a menu. ![]() As I mentioned, it was my first time here so I was looking at their croissants, etc that were right by the cashier. ![]() I'm big on customer service and the girl at the cashier made me want to leave. and bright(opposite than what the outside looks) and has cute decor.Īs far as the service is concerned, not happy at all. It's painted in black and their business name sign is in a cute font. What initially caught my attention was how it looked on the outside. I work in the area and finally came to try this place out.
